Just seen this on Gumtree

Here is a link to the advert.

Advert reads

"Original MGF 1996-2002 black mesh wind deflector. Used only a couple of times. In original MGF bag.

Sells new for £150 as a copy of the original. This is an original part. Willing to sell for £120 for quick sale. "

Strange design, I have never seen this model before :-?

Not too far from where I work, may pop over and see it in the flesh.

That's what it looks like to me. Just phoned the number in the ad and spoke to a 'dear old lady'. She insists that it came off her 1997 MGF! I asked her how it fitted on ... "Can't remember exactly it just clipped on as far as I can remember."

Asked if there were any serial or model number on it, she says "nothing". She said the photo was not of her car, she just used one from the internet.

"You're more than welcome to come and fit it on yours" she said, adding ... "although I won't drop the price, these are rare you know."

"True, Very rare on an MGF" I said.

Going to see it tomorrow as it is only 2 mins from where I work.

Phoned her and asked, "after the MGF did you own an Audi A4 Cabriolet?"

 " Yes I did, .........Oh dear,..... thank you, thank you, it has sat in the garage for years and I was convinced it was from the MGF."

:slapme: mystery of the rare MGF wind deflector solved.
