Well my love affair with the K series is over. Garage reckon Head Gasket gone again. I can buy another car for the quote to fix so sadly letting this one go.
Fair bit of MOT left. Not smoking at all so I'm still driving it to work every day. 160 round trip to Cardiff last week used 3 litres of water.
Some of the better bits.
It's British Racing Green
New gearbox mounted speed sensor
New Catalytic Converter
New Back Box
New O2 sensors
New Plugs and Leads.
Black Hard top that could do with relining as it has come away from the card. Lovely Green / Black Leather seats and Steering Wheel.
Perfect Soft top.
Perfect set of MG Alloy Wheels with good tyres.
No rust on any panels.
I would take £500 for it whole as I know the Hard tops sell for a few hundred and the new parts on it make up the rest. Realisticly though I fear it will be broken up
The Car is in Gloucester. I can post a lot of bits but not sure about the larger parts. It will be available by the end of this week.
Hate doing this to a car but better bits of it help other people as oppossed to the Scrap Yard

Is it a mk1 or a mk2? (what colour is the windscreen surround, mechanical or electronic milometer, tweeters in the door cards)

What is the paint code?

I am after 2 front wings and possibly some other panels and mk1 door cards.

I have been quoted about 500 - 700 to do the gasket, skim the head and change water pump. Seems when it was done 10k miles ago, the head was not skimmed. The top end is quite noisy as well and he said there are some sensors showing as not working. Picking it up tomorrow night so will know more then

You certainly should not skim the head unless you absolutely have to.... the hardened surface of the head is very thin, and by skimming you can actaully make things worse sometimes. Unless there is evidence of pitting or the fire rings have dug in I wouldn't skim.....in fact even I I did find that I'd swap the head instead!

You can get the HG done MUCH cheaper than your quote.

Hi talkingcars. The Paint code is HFF British Racing Green. The 2 front wings are very good. The O/S wing has lost some lacquer off the top part. The inside windscreen surround is a whitish cream? The Mileometer is Electronic. No idea if I have a Mk1 or a Mk2 sorry. Tweeters are good. Not sure about door cards as May have to keep them to go with the Green/Black Leather seats and Steering Wheel

Thanks - I will definatly have the front wings, possibly bonnet, boot, bumpers and the drivers door but I don't need the handle.

Can you let me have some pictures and prices.

I don't want the door cards as I am after the earlier ones without the tweeters.

James
