Wanted A Good Home (Claimed Awaiting Collection)
I have thank you and a list has been drawn up I am waiting for one member who contacted me first and is hopefully getting back to me to confirm a date, If not I've promised it to the next in line and so on.
I'm going to be fair and give it to those who enquired first and in that order. If somebody comes along now and offers me money for it, I won't accept it. I've offered it free and free it will be.
You're right about giving it to an enthusiast, this Forum has been a tremendous help to me since I've owned the car and I'm offering it on this Forum only.
You have encouraged me to spend my money by over the last 2 years by keep finding stuff on "the bay of E" and "the net" and in your "how to do's", so in a way you part own this car.
Have a good one.
By the way, due to the encouraging response, the car is booked in for its MOT on Weds 6th Jan 2016 at 3.00pm so from then on, it will ready to go.

I'm overwhelmed and thrilled by your response, thank you to all those who have PM'd me.
I now have a list of 6 members waiting for me to confirm its theirs. And I'm going to give it to the first one who PM'd me last night. If he declines I'll offer it to the next one and so on, if that makes sense, I'm sure you'll appreciate that, as I want to be as fair as possible. And as I have said even if someone throws pound notes, Euro's, Rubles, Rupees, Pesetas or anything else, I won't accept them sorry. I do have some morals.
I won't hang around the first one on the list needs to confirm by close of play today, they know who they are, or I'll be contacting the next in line and so on.
Once again many thanks
Tone

I spotted the thread last night just after you posted it and was very tempted, but two MG's is enough for me. :drive:
It's a shame you cant drive the car any more,I can't imagine how frustrating it must be.I wish you all the best in the future with your health.

I understand all about selling a car in Cornwall, we are a large county with a population of less than 550,000 so it’s a small market for selling a specialised car. We are located at the north of the lizard and it’s a 2hr drive for us just to get out of the county, so it’s the cost of the transport to pick up a vehicle becomes prohibitive if it’s going up country.
However for a cost of around £12 to £16 (Classified Add) you could give Ebay a try as I have just sold one of my Rover 45’s to a guy in Hove where he paid to have it transported.
The time of year for selling a convertible is not good, but if she’s in the way and you want her off your drive you are welcome to leave her on our farm FOC as I am sure she will sell in the warmer months and you can get some money back from her.
Brian.

I totally agree about selling in the sunshine state, and I'm not that far down (Bodmin Area).
But listen many many thanks for the kind offer, but one of our mods has claimed her and will be collecting in the next couple of weeks.
I now have to tell everyone on the list that they have missed out this time.
Thanks for your support.
regards

I picked her up from Cornwall today and drove back to Pembrokeshire. The car drives like a new one despite having 135k+ miles on the clock and it covered the 260miles without missing a beat. She really is a beauty with only a minor shade mismatch on the boot lid which was sourced from a later model TF. Tony reckons the front wings and bonnet also show up under certain lighting but I haven't been able to see any differences today.
Tony is a real gent, even coming to pick me up from the station and then showing the way back to the main road from his delightful little village. Thank you Tony for your generosity and kindness.
I have promised to look after the car because there is no doubt it has received a lot of care and attention in its history.
I keep calling the car 'her' and 'she' but I am going to call him Henry because of the registration (JKL). Hope Tony doesn't mind.
That begs the question of what to do with my existing silver F and I am seriously considering following Tony's lead and offering it as free to a good home to anyone on this forum. It's by no means as nice as Henry but it runs well and has had a few bits and pieces done to it.
Watch this space for details over the next couple of weeks!
