For sale my lovely MGF VVC. She rolled off the Longbridge production line on the 29th October 1997 and was first registered on the 5th December 1997. I purchased the car in August 2014 from MGFnTFBitz and have owned her for nearly 8 years. During this period much money, time and work has been lavished upon her! The amazing thing was that she'd originally arrived at MGFnTFBitz to be parted out as the engine was blown, but when put on the ramps they realised she was too good to for that, especially being finished in the rare White Diamond colour. A replacement VVC engine was fitted along with all the normal headgasket changes etc and the car was then used by the proprietors for about a year and then put up for sale. She drives very well and looks fantastic in her White Diamond paint. Here's what's been done to her, there's probably stuff I've forgotten as well but there is a large file of receipts and info included as well as loads of photos of various work being done.
Suspension: All polybushed, new droplinks, new shocks, ball joints, wheel bearings, refurbished re-gassed suspension spheres and new knuckle joints (the car now rides as she did when new) etc
Brakes: Calipers stripped, painted and refurbished, new pads, new drilled and grooved discs, new braided flexi hoses etc
Engine: Belts and water pump etc, cam cover detailed with polished stainless accessories, full stainless steel exhaust system including manifold, normal service items, plugs, filters including fuel filter.
Gearbox: New gear cable end joints fitted and oil changed
Wheels: All alloys refurbished, new MG Rover alloy wheel nuts, decorative stainless allen bolts fitted to replace the original plastic ones
Cooling system: New aluminium radiator, low coolant sensor with audible warning, electronic delay and switching, new expansion reservoir bottle and cap
Electrics: Replacement MFRU, electric door mirrors fitted, battery isolator, rear parking camera and dash cam, DRLs fitted, replacement (clear) headlights with night breaker bulbs and LED side lights, rear light inner boot covers, electric boot release, accessory fuse box fitted behind airbag dash panel, FM radio with mp3, Bluetooth, sat nav, hands free and dashcam / rear view cam video (motor driven touch screen display) remote controls, door speakers upgraded
Under bonnet: Polished stainless steel horn brackets and radiator mounts, replacement stainless bolts, brake servo brace, air intake snorkel fitted, stainless bonnet lift struts plus other small detailing bits
Exterior: Excellent hood and rear plastic window, hood has had new cantrail seals fitted. New door hinge pins fitted, side, boot and front air intakes all fitted with polished stainless mesh, rear high level brake light surround re-finished in silver, filler cap polished and colour coded, indicator and repeater lenses replaced with clear units, colour coded front splitter / spoiler.
Bodywork: Excellent order with many jobs completed during my ownership. The sills are excellent and along the lower edge finished in a body schultz that has been painted with a high gloss black that makes from easy cleaning and affords protection from stone chip damage etc. Copious amounts of waxoyl has been used in the sills and other cavaties all over the car. New door hinge pins fitted.
Interior: Full leather, the seats are from a Mk2 MGF and much of the interior has been re-trimmed in black leather. Walnut trim including genuine wooden steering wheel, door caps, centre console, air bag cover, handbrake handle. Door trims are Mk2 MGF but fitted with leather inserts and chrome Rover 75 handle surrounds. Solid alloy heater controls with all guages including speedo and tacho having alloys rings. Solid alloy speaker rings, seat belt guides, gear and handbrake knobs, chrome foot rest and ash tray with MG logo. Retro black and chrome metal MG badge between seats on rear panel. Genuine mesh MG Rover windbreak. MG logo carpet mats.
What's not so good, the only things that I'm aware ofThe electric boot popper is intermittent. I'm pretty sure it's a poor connection on a spade terminal on the relay that supplies the boot mounted solenoid, but I haven't had a chance to look at it! Carpet is a poor fit on the side of the foot wells, this is very common on MK1 MGFs. Have a look at her MOT history for more info as well. There's a very thick file of receipts and stuff plus lots of photos of work done that come with the car.
By the way she spends her life in a dry timber garage under an indoor dust cover and only ventures out in the dry! She's looking for a good home, somebody that promises to look after her.
