SRS plug or loom
I couldn't face fitting brake lines today (see my build thread) so decided to remove the seats and carpets ready for the replacements I have waiting to go in.
Unfortunately some potato head has gone and cut off the drivers side seat plug:-
Has anyone got a spare plug I could solder in or, an srs loom so I can just replace the whole lot.
Thanks in advance,
Steve.

Not wishing to be rude but do you have any proof about the airbag thing?

DISCONNECT BOTH BATTERY TERMINALS AND WAIT AN HOUR TO FULLY DISCHARGE THE CAPICATORS, BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING :omg: :omg: :omg: otherwise the air bag/s could be fired. please dont touch the fuses or wiring for the SRS system. mgfntfbitz will supply a plug and wire for a few pence. assume the seats have the plug socket fitted for the SRS

so to be honest i know loads of chaps who like me simply unplug and replug and never think about it,and then you get must disconnect the battery.
so are they really that dangerous and ive been lucky,or is it just health and safety just in case.

As far as I'm concerned health and safety dictates that the battery is disconnected for a period of time to dissipate the charge. The battery has been unconnected for a week now so that should do it.
As for airbags going off from removing fuses etc, I'm inclined to disagree. That's not how vehicle electrical systems work (especially in this case with the seatbelt pre tensioner - it doesn't 'talk' to the airbag) and I think internet hearsay has blown it all out of proportion.
I removed and refitted the entire SRS system from my Prelude with no explosions, death, etc.
Bryan, thanks for the heads up on mgfntfbitz.

The procedure above is recommended by the manufacturer and therefore we can do nothing other than repeat their advice.
Anecdotal evidence might suggest something else, but logic dictates that we must offer only 'SAFE' advice.

I must admit I disconnect my battery even though it takes about 30 minutes to reprogram my ICE unit afterwards :bang:
just don't fancy getting hit in the head by an airbag plate :nonod:
