Yes if you look under the drivers side rear bumper you'll see a circle metal valve thing with a little black hose / vacume clip on it. Thats it. Block it off and tie it out of the way then you get double the zorts output.

Hi Attila,

If you mean the Exhaust Volume Control Valve on a later TF then have a look at the hyperlink below.

Not fitted on later TF. Thats why you can't find it.
Lift the boot lid and on the right side there is a body lug with an 'ole in it. That's where the gubbins for the exhaust valve used to be located. Not fitted on the last cars: ours is a Feb 06 reg.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

What John said :)

Other place to check is under the o/s rear of the car, on the exhaust if there is no diaphragm for the air pipe then you won't have it.
Its weird, the '04 TF I have now hasn't got one, my last '04 did have one and if I remember Ben's '53 reg TF doesn't have one...

May only be able to tell by VIN number as I also look after a Sept 04 160 TF for a guy at college which has one fitted, one of the first jobs we did was unplug the solenoid valve; "possibly sporadically fitted till the end of production!"

Both my 04 and 53 had it on. I swapped the OEM to xpower and then blocked the pipe up with a screw and a bit of gaffer / tie wrap combo.

MG-R at their best eh..... Keeps us guessing :)
I know on my other 04 car I just unplugged it at the electrical plug end, the valve defaults to open when unplugged.

:help:
I would like both pipes working, rather than just the LHS one.
Could anyone have a quick look at ours on Saturday?
