Hi All
Last night (16/08/13) was the first time I have been out at night in the car :drive: , and the o/s dipped was so way off that I could only see the gutter, so how do I adjust the thing :bang: , on the side there is a cap but it does not look like an adjuster when I take it off, and the two adjusters only seem to adjust the full beam,
Any help would be most welcome.

Hi Fred,
On the TF you can’t independently adjust the main and dipped beams, the adjustment moves them both together; there is a vertical adjuster (top) and horizontal adjuster (lower)
Below is a link to an article from the MG enthusiast on how to:
http://www.mgenthusiast.com/features/modifying-your-car/789-tf-headlights-are-off-target
I would first check that the bulb is properly seated in the slots of the reflector ring before doing any adjustments.
Secondly if it’s so far out check that the headlamp beam converter has not been moved to the LHD position (there is a lever on the dipped section of the lamp which moves a reflective disc behind the parabola to flip the dipped beam for RH or LH driving situations) there is a how to from the ultimate MG site, link below:

I agree with the thought that the bulb is not seated properly as the beam sounds much further out than could be explained by a simple alignment problem.
It could also be that the entire headlight is not fitted properly.

Hi
First of all the idiot :bat: that I am it is the N/S that is looking into the gutter, any way I have taken the bulb out and reset it, also I have marked on the garage door the height of the O/S beam then marked the door the same height for the N/S and then adjusted the light, now waiting for it to get dark.
Thanks for all the advice that you have passed on.

Get the beams tested at a garage. Some might even do it for free. It is the only way to ensure your beams are correct.
