Reprogramming a previous used fob
When I bought my car I only got one fob. I bought a used one on Ebay . Is it true that it cannot be programmed as it has been previously used?

Hmm David Aiketgate knows about such things I reckon. I believe he's got one of those key fob programming machine things. I'll remember what they're called right after I press submit.

If it is the latest fobs then I think you are out of luck. It needs to be a new one, with a bar code and the car is programmed to it.

Yeh as above really.
The square ones can be picked up second hand and coded to the car. The round ones, you need the bar code of the fob. Normally second hand round ones don't have the bar code and are useless.

thanks for the reply. Yes I had an idea that it would not work. It was cheap though so I did not loose so much money, but a new one is expensive!

Keep it just for the case as the buttons degrade.
