The only trouble is I have a broken ankle and my knowlage is not all that good with pcs {blind leading the blind] So if he comes to my home how can I get my wireless modem to work on his pc in my house.

normaly wireless modems have a connection for a rj45 wire (lan connection)
if there is not one then you will need a dongle for wiless connection

Does he have remote access /
You can access his pc from yours, while at home and fix his problem for him :yesnod:

I do similar work for a relative, and her laptop will connect with my wireless modem easily. It just needs setup to connect to the wireless signal.

On your friend's pc/ laptop, just look for your wireless connection and input your password. Once its connected, you can go to the talktalk page and enter his name and password or use your own.

Yep.

Any wireless enabled PC should be able to connect to any wireless network.

All you need to do is look in the list of detected WiFi networks. Click on the WiFi icon in the bottom right of your screen (taskbar) and a list of detected networks should appear. Click on the one you want to connect to and it should diplay a connect option. Click on connect and then type in the SSID (password) when prompted.

They both have the same modem, so I am assuming they are both wireless enabled.
