Got the 04 TF two days ago was driving around and getting headaches, turned out that although the heat knob is on low it really is high? Strange..

Anyone know what is broken that i need to fix? I can see a trip to the scrap yard / eBay imminent.

That looks like the best place to start :yesnod:

Shouldn't a copy of this be in our 'how to' section?

I thought that "how to" was on here already, as i have read it when the same problem came up before ~ :nonod: :yesnod: :nonod: I will ask Clive or David to pick it up from .org (shudder) and put it here. I even looked in the cjj guides section and it aint there either :bust:

Have you checked that the cable is actually moving the valve? sometimes the metal lever gets dislocated from the plastic part and although the metal lever is moving it's not actually moving the valve.
Easily fixed by relocating the lever.

Alla full-on heater can really be is the levers not operating the valves correctly or the valve internals are shot. I would test the replacement valve carefully before fitting!!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I know this won't help you, as judging from your photo the valve is in the 'closed' position but my heater got stuck on the last day of our Italy trip.

On investigation, I found that the cable sleeve had come out of the clip at the center console end. There is a small 2 cable clip that holds this end (even though there is only 1 cable).

Here's a pic showing the cable clip to the valve on the right and the end from the center console on the left:

And here is a close up of the left hand clip (sorry it's a bit fuzzy):

Just a bit more info that may help someone in the future ;)
