Part One

I was watching the clouds slowly dissipate and around 11:45 started to get the car ready to take the dogs on their first more than 1 mile drive out in Nicole.

I decided to take them to a part of the Wyre Forest a few miles the other side (to me) of Bewdley.
I removed the boot false floor to give them more head room and put a nice soft blanket in. We had the usual Oscar does a nut job when I got their collars out :D
After fitting and adjusting the collars, I clipped on their leads and took them out to the car. The tail gate was open and they both jumped in. I made them 'WAIT' while I unclipped the leads and shut the tail gate.

It took us about 20 minutes to get to the part of the forest I wanted to walk and it was quite busy when we arrived, the sun was out, the birds were singing and all was very well with the world :)

Nicole

We set off at a brisk pace.....

.....then stopped for a Collar close up........

.......then off we went again

I took it in turns letting them run off the lead and stopped for a short rest half way round

Part Two

The views were great

However my two were getting impatient so we headed out once more

We made friends with a 7 year old Staffie (whose elderly owner manager to fall over his dog, landing on his bottom) and a bit further along a young rescue Staffie. We had a chat to a man whose dog was very impatient to get on with his walk so just barked and barked at him. This started Oscar off and they proceeded to shatter the tranquil Sunday afternoon atmosphere.
I think the man was quite intelligent about dogs but who knows because I could not hear a word he was saying :argh:
We were getting closer to the car park by now so it was 'no more off the lead' time.

Oscar was a little horse from all of his singing.....

....and Aphrodite was looking for the car so she could rest while her hearing returned!

We got back to the car after a very enjoyable, long walk. The drive home was uneventful apart from the gradual diminishing of the ringing in my ears. On arrival home at 14:10, I de collared and watered the hounds, de haired the car seat and put the false boot floor back in.
Aphrodite and Oscar are now fast asleep, they may even be snoring but due to my perforated ear drums I just can not say for sure. :nonod:
