My time with MG's
so I will do it here, as you know my time with the MG brand is over, although I still have "polar" she is being returned to standard-ish for selling.
My journey began back in 2008 not long after my Mum died with Mellow
A standard low mileage MGF Trophy which I paid £5500 for.
I kept her for some time and kept her standard aswell. well when I say standard I mean she ended up with a TT Mk4 exhaust on her which was it. I was still learning what these cars where all about and becoming one off you lot at the same time.
how ever I then decided I wanted a Mk2 V6 ZS
I can not remember the year I got it but I paid £3900 of my hard earned pounds buying it
This was the WORST mistake of my life, the car was a complete dog, I mean a right shed, The dealer must have seen me coming! anyways I used this car for awhile before it managed to get HGF! thanks to Kseal it held it at bay untill I had managed to sell it.
while I owned the ZS Mellow was forsale.
The ZS finally was shifted but at a huge loss for £2000 9months later, I had had mellow back on the road durring the summer.
Now I had discovered Modding! Mellow was to turn into a car people would remember
it all started with a stripe, now ive never been one for liking stripes but I kinda got the hang off the idea of them.
Along with a nice Blueflame exhaust and some leather seats she was coming along nicely
next was some nice black wheels
smoked lights
union jacks
more black bits arrived
but alas winter was back and it was time for Mellow to go to bed
So after missing a v6 growl I found this lovely Mk1 ZS for £1500 in southampton
this was the 2nd best car I had owned at the time and I still to this day regret selling ti
But as spring came round and some bullying from my father I said good bye to the ZS with a tear in my eye luckily though I got my £1500 back.
Then was another BAD choice, I decided to get a small ZR to use for work as Mellow was turning into a show car
this was £1300 and a bad move, the engine went bang. I sold it for £1000 oops!
so it was back to Modding Mellow
a re-map, yellow stripes on wheels, interior finishing, quad exhaust finishers the lot
she really was stunning
Then while on the crackpot run she let me down, I lost faith and decided it was time to move on
so she was up forsale and most of the mods where moved over to the next car.
I found this little Monogram TF160 just over the water from me
and so the modding began, first the exhaust, then the wheels, spoiler, chrome bits, blue interior, blue roof, stainless down pipes, air filter, blue s/wheel, blue centre console the list is endless!!
mellows roll hoops moved over aswell
at this point it was good bye to mellow for her new life with Simon
Then that Damn winter set in again and I decided to flirt with a GERMAN!
A BMW 323 M-sport this was another good buy by me but alas I decided 1 car was enough after afew months and the TF was back again
But things turned sour, I did not feel the love or bond with the TF any more, I missed Mellow and the emotional attachment I had with it from my mother, the TF could not fill that gap no matter how much I modded it, money was being poured into it and I was no happier so the time came to say good bye and buy something away from the brand, the chance to buy the TF as this outstanding modded car has gone, she still has alot on her but she is looking more standard now which saddens me abit, but she will make a great car for someone. ( £3500 )
so back to flirting with Germans again, this time I decided to go all out and splash money I do not have, the money from the BMW helped as will the money from the TF when I get it but it was a serious choice to make, so about a weak ago I went and picked up my 2001 Porsche Boxster S with so many toys and extras on it, time will come when I decide to mod it ( not yet! ) just a stainless exhaust and remap
This car will stay with me for some time, just like Mellow did, I flirted with other MG models but always seemed to return to the F/TF many friends have been made along the way, some more than friends, I even have an adopted family!! all thanks to these little cars and the community, hence why I am staying a member, I have made many wonderful friends and just cause I do not own a MG anymore does not mean I will throw that away.
:woohoo:

yep we do make some good freinds during our time with the fs and tfs
i was glad to get rid of the blue one as that ended up as a real pain
but the red F i still miss in one way evey time i look out of the window i thinks shees still ther but no shees gone
she was goergeouse and fun to drive but repairs ect ment we could not keep as a main car
the one thing we have taken away from our mg times is we love driving with the roof down so as we are on a limited budjet we got the astra (wanted the audi but at 7 k was out of my price range)
the astra is fun to drive and i can keep both eyey on the road lol insted of looking at the temp gauge
so stick around matey and have some fun
and remember the good times with mellow as i was told better to of loved and lost than never of loved at all
mellow was is a lovely looking car :broon:
perhaps we will meet one day and i can have a go in the porche :broon:

one thing I will say is the lighter blue on the tf was easier to keep clean
the dark blue seems to draw dust to it, every time I finished a panel i would look back and it was dusty again.
decided the wheels and bits behind them needed tidying up,
so father did a quick refurb on the wheels and we sprayed up the bits around the disks, wheel nuts and re-lacquered the callipers
looks miles better now, I will get the wheels fully refurbished in the summer.
I need a stainless exhaust first :bust:

One of our wealthy club members had a Bentley sports convertable as well as a string of MGs, MGA, MGC, ZT-T 260, 2000 LE MGF, and RV8 ~ Well a major service on the Bentley was £8000 !!!!!!!,
