When to say 'Thankyou'.

When to say 'Thankyou'. was created by Leigh Ping

You might notice that I say 'thankyou' a lot in the threads. But it doesn't always means what it says on the tin. Sometimes it's just to 'acknowledge' that a post has been read and not ignored or overlooked, sometimes it means it made me chuckle, sometimes it means that I've no time to respond right now and sometimes it might even mean that I don't necessarily agree with what's been said. But I viewed your point that you took the time to air.

Oh yes.. and occasionally it just means 'Thankyou'. There, being no other option, I thank you all for reading this script.

So, if I thankyou for your hgf.. you will now know why. ;)

~Grins at Rich~

Now I wonder who would get stuffed the most

I would like a LIKE button, I feel a bit silly saying Thank you to a post that I Like, but saying Thank you to a helpfull post is apt ...

I know what I mean ;)

The solution might be to have anonymity in the thankyou button. But not only from members.

I suggest guests also be given the ability to say thanks. We do have many visitors to the T-Bar who come for info, usually on the how to guides and some other answers that pop up in thread discussions. Maybe this idea might go some way towards identifying the myriad numbers of visitors to the active members who have provided the solutions they are looking for?

What are your thoughts on guests being allowed to say thankyou to a post?

Thankfully not needed on the T-bar but there ought to be a "F*** You" button  on some forums I've seen.

If they can say Thank you, then they should have the good manners to join

If we have a stuff you button that guests can use then, it's safe to assume that I will be well and truly stuffed ;)

Laughs at Alan, it is quite toxic over there isn't it

Lovely to meet you and the better half on Sunday, and what a gorgeous car you have :broon:

I tend to agree with SS. If a visitor wants to say thankyou, then they can join!

PS: the Thankyou to Andy above was a "that made me grin" thankyou!!!
