Many have said how poor the handbrake is on our cars.
I also have a Rover 75, and when bought it the hand break was very very poor, so I investigated and found that the compensator needed changing, I change it adjusted cables etc and now my handbrake is excellent
This made me realize just how bad the TF hand break was, so today I thought I'd look into it, I found a good inch of play in the cables where the lever (compensator) is.
What a pane to adjust the the nut inside the tunnel, turn the nut and the whole cable turns, then springs back when released, anyway, with the help of a small pair of mole grips I managed to take up the play.
Result. two good working handbrakes. TF, Rover 75

I didn't realise, until you posted about the handbrake, that I've never actually used mine. Ever. I'll have to check it and see if it works now. :broon:
