Port Forwarding was created by cjj

Anyone geekyer than me and can help me set up port forwarding on my BT Homehub 3?

I have set up the port forwarding to my CCTV system in the hub as best as I know, allocating TCP port 34567 (as is shown on the CCTV setup screen) and set it to custom IP address (again to correspond with the CCTV unit).

Still can't find the device using VS500 on my Samsung Note.

It all works if I put the IP in on the local LAN, but not if I put the public ip in.

I have tried testing with PFPortchecker and it reports that the port is open "Your port is OPEN on another device", but the ping test comes back as "We were not able to ping your router"

Any suggestions welcome.

What about opening udp port 34567 too? Are the camera and router on the same subnet and share the same default gateway? I have a homehub 2 so can have a look at mine also did you save the settings and reboot the router afterwards. Sorry if I'm going at the basics

Have rebooted.

The protocol is set to "Any" so should cover both TCP and UDP.

Hmm think if its like mine you have to make a rule then assign it to a device / ip address

Have you opened that port on your windows firewall too? Might be reporting a fault that's not there

Surely the Windows firewall shouldn't effect the router. The router firewall is set to allow the rules setup in the port forwarding, just to make sure, I set the router firewall to off while I tried the ping check.

So you can ping the camera but can't see the cam from the pc / laptop

So you should have something like this:
Camera connected to router with WiFi / cable
Rule on router with your port number assigning the rule where the video content is saved? E.g camera server

This should allow the camera to put its files onto the computer or is it setup differently

CCTV system is connected to the wireless LAN via a wireless dongle.

The CCTV settings are as follows

The hub rule is set up as follows:

With the device set as a custom ip corresponding to the CCTV device:

But this is what it says when I ping the port:

The CCTV Gateway ip doesn't match the router Gateway ip.

Should it?

It will work with .254 but all things on your internal network should have the router as the default gateway. Do your cameras have discs attached or are you getting them to store on your computer ?
