Saloons, not everyone's idea of an MG, but thought I would share my photos of today's event. The oldest? A Y Type. The newest? The MG BTCC replica MG6. Plenty of Zeds, and a surprising number of Metros and Maestros. There was one MG TF present, a white LE500, and spiritually, the Metros made up for the lack of any MGFs.

That's a very nice looking ZS, Peter! It was a toss up between the ZS180 and the ZT160 when I bought in 2002, but the ZT won out at the time. Had the Mk2 been out, it would have been the ZS, no doubt about it!

I had hoped to photograph all the cars, but owing to the weather, and chatting to everyone, time ran out!

There must have been tough competition in the PoO but I was very pleased for an old friend, Kelvin Fagan, who won with his Y-reg ZS he has owned from new.

Thanks for the pictures of the TFs and F, I forgot about the green TF earlier this morning, and the purple MGF belongs to Simon Goldsworthy, editor of MG Enthustiast magazine. The white LE500 was there because the owner's ZS was apparenlty off the road.

As an ex Longbridge worker, I found all this nostalgia very emotional. Thanks Martin. :broon:

I really wouldn't say no to a Maestro Turbo... only problem would be, if I bought one I'd then have to buy a Montego Turbo, to have the full set of 80's Turbo MGs.

96 MGF 1.8i: Project Rally Car
98 MGF Abingdon" 285H cams, modded head etc
87 MG Metro: 1440cc fast road car
88 MG Metro Turbo
70 MG Midget: 1.9L VVC + supercharger + RWD = YEEHAA!
72 MGBGT: Project Speed 6 MGB
05 MG ZT-T 260: wife's sensible car
01 MG ZS 180: LHD, for driving around Germany in

I'm old, but can remember my dads blue Maestro, knowing what that was like, makes you appreciate the time and effort required to keep the Turbo's in such good condition.

But the Metro's were the same, had a red one when they first came out, great little car.

The daughter has a K reg Mini Cooper, bought it 5 years ago, worth more now than when she first had it.
