My 1000th post
This was just after I had bought the Mk1 F and, for some long forgotten reason, wanted to keep as OEM as possible :coat:
laz1957 wrote: As the car is a MkI I thought I may try to keep it as original as possible - hence the hankering after a plastic door pin
Also, I am pretty sure that the gear knob isn't original - what does the original one look like on a Mk I ?
The seat damage is in the usual place on the edge of the driver's seat (both fabric and piping)
Now, just over 2 years later I can happliy report that, with the invaluable help of all and sundry on our wonderful community the car has had the following 'upgrades':
52mm throttle body
Pipercross Viper induction
TT Mk 4 exhaust
front Spliiter
'trophied' front lights
clear side repeaters with chrome trims
flag badges
stripped fuel filler ring
repainted wing mirrors
repainted side vents with scoops fitted
11 spoke alloy wheels with Team Dyamics flush air valves
Mike Satur quad lights
Mike Satur 'FX' roll hoops and wind deflector
Mike Satur 'FX' door speaker grills
Mike Satur alloy door kick plates (anyone see a pattern developing here )
Mike Satur wing mirror handles
Mike Satur 'FX' seat tilt adjusting knobs
Mike Satur M-G-F pedals
Mike Satur heater knobs
Mike Satur lighter, with light up surround
Richbrook alloy handbrake (what happened there? - oh I remember I like this more than the Mike Satur one  )
Richbrook alloy tax disc holder
chrome ashtray
Momo carbon fibre gear knob
'daytona' door pod material with OEM carbon fibre trims
OEM carbon fibre air vents
OEM carbon fibre center console
OEM carbon fibre effect fire extinguisher in passenger footwell
red/black leather TF seats
red/black leatther steering wheel
'badged' driver's airbag
fully fitted Pioneer AVIC sat-nav/radio/DVD player, with bluetooth and iPod adapters
modified rear T-bar, to allow better rear speakers to be fitted with the roll hoops
electronic boot release
various interior bulbs replaced with LEDs, including red festoon LEDs in foot wells
I have a fully refurbed set of AP racing calipers to go on the front and a Cheetah bumper, that needs painting, for the rear. After that, who knows?
and all this came from "has anyone got an OEM gearknob?"
Let this be a warning to you all - once you go over to the 'darkside' there is no return
But my favourite mod of all is the 2 small stickers in my windscreen that say 'border patrol' :yesnod: :drive:

Great modding list there Laz. I know that you've been an events patron a few times too. So, it must have been all worth doing eh. :broon:When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer.
That's a heck of a trawl from down there to the border patrol regions. Well done.
