not mgf but help needed
had a chance to look at the rover 45 again, and why its not starting, all was fine when I last parked it up on drive but have to admit its been neglected for a couple of months due to enjoying the mg so much, The problem seem to be as people suggested before.. no petrol I took off the petrol line from the filter and got my son to turn it over hoping for petrol to start pulsing out.. but absolutely nothing so I took off the petrol filter canister to see if any come from the bottom feed pipe when turned over but again nothing, did notice that when immediatly after turning ignition back to the off position you can hear a sort of bruub bruub noise then quite it does this each and everytime im guessing thats the fuel pump as the sound sounds like its from the rear. whats the next step ? any ideas

Could be the relay making the noise and the pump doing nothing.. Had this on my MGF buggy..
I have no idea where the pump is.. But guessing its in the tank itself.. Access under rear seats?

well its alive... how stupid... i have been mucking around trying to get it started aover the last week and finally found the problem... its been sat on the drive for 2 mths doing nothing.. the problem was the fuel cut off switch had trigger itself due being sat with low petrol (just on the red) I had to push the button back in then top the tank up to 1/4 so it could self prime.. so now I can get rid of all the junk down the tip, like the old freestyle bumper and coolant pipes the cut up airbox lol and a few bits from the garden..

A good result but..... Isn't the cut off an inertia switch that shuts off the system in the event of impact?
Then again, it is a Rover...

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
