Just bought an unusual factory tuned XPower MGTF

Hello.

Thought this might be of interest here to some of you. Have recently purchased a unique MGTF.

This car was produced to show off the Xpower range and underwent sports tuning in the plant as documented by the following internal MG Rover fax which forms part of the cars documentation

I remember being at the auction at MG XPower Sport and Racing..

This car was sold at that auction, and is mentioned in the notes

...one of the most interesting was the MGTF concept car...plus several Z cars including the Bonneville Estate ZTT for sale. Prices are a little higher however with the TF500 at £32,250, The chromoflair Supersport at £15,950, the grey MGTF Enhanced 1.8i at £13,950 [mine] and the 1997 Bonneville Ex-F Price on application..."

I wouldnt get too excited its just a black leather interior, not like the brightly coloured type I have seen. It does have some nice Xpower branding on the seats, gearknob and seatbelts though.

I think the main attraction, apart from the performance, is that it is all original. Although I wish they had replaced the tacky plastic buttons for air control with metal ones! This lack of finish really lets the car down in my eyes and its the one thing I might get these knobs replaced if I can find nice ones.
