The Asylum is a restricted zone for members who've significantly committed to the site in effort, knowledge, organisation, time, or simply donated funds..... so that we can discuss 'off topic' and 'controversial matters' without fear of inciting flame wars or attracting trolls. It's not visible to guests unlike the other areas.

The final entry criteria of donation was applied because not everyone who uses the T-Bar has the time, knowledge or capacity to earn entry through other methods .... so to avoid it being elitist, it's also open to those who simply wish to donate funds to show their commitment.

Two things to add,

All hosting of sites cost money... the better the site, the more the money. The more the members contribute, the less adverts are necessary. Psymon does an outstanding job of upgrading, maintaining and financing this site through dedication and canny means, that keep the commercial activities well in the background.

... and we don't specify how much, or how little a donation is required for entry to the Asylum.

The only criteria for entry to the Asylum is a committment to the site in some fashion, to some degree. ... oh and you'll need to ask Admin for a key. :lol:

Sorry that is not correct, entry to the Asylum is by having paid a site levy or made a donation to the site ..

Sites like this need funding, and as Promoter I will, and do use any means possible to do this ..

Jan, can we confirm that your PM system works? It's just that the Admin/Mod team seem to have lost your PM on this matter.

I can only assume it isn't working as yet again you want to highlight Admin/Mod decisions and question them in public.

We don't have anything to hide here on what does seem to be a very small matter but, for your benefit, and the benefit of the members, we will get back to you on the exact rules for admission into the Asylum.
