So Ferrari have deliberately broken the seal on Massa's gearbox so that he gets a 5 place grid penalty.
Just so Alonso moves up a place on the grid, and incidentally onto the faster side of the grid.

Acceptable or not?

Being Devil's advocate, isn't this just what F1 is about? Exploiting every rule to the limit to help your guy win?.

A win from the bad side for Hamilton - Alonso third - did it really make that much difference?

As an F1 fan since I was a kid: 45 years now, One has to get used to the gamesmanship I'm afraid. At least Ferrari have always been upfront about having a favoured driver. Within the rules: yes. Sporting? A bit questionable.
In my opinion, anything that stops that irritating little $h1t Vettel and his caffeine drink crew winning is justified. The sycophancy of the commentators is sickening. Every time I see his finger I think 'boltcroppers'.

Never thought I'd say it..... Come on Ferrari!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Only just been able to read this thread (Didn't want any clues until I'd seen the race). Since team orders are now within the rules why did they need to do it? Massa would have to have let him through anyway.

Also well done Jenson to finish 5th after dropping to 16 at one time. Great move on Raikonnen.

Clearly was a huge difference off the start. All the cars on the right just left the rest for dead. Hamilton had a relatively good start and only lost one place. Could have been avoided by readjusting the locations of the even numbered grid spots for the grand prix, but with some use it won't be an issue in the future.

never mind, a good race for McLaren for a change, great drive by Hamilton and an excellent recovery from Button. Massa also had a great race.

Safer than taking the opposition out at the first bend I suppose.

So much money and sponsorship hanging on to where you come its no wonder they will bend the rules.

When the commentator was talking about Marussia, being in the points, think he said 1 point was worth £19 million to them.

With the points Ferrari and The likes of Red Bull get, you can understand how they can have 400 odd engineers doing the RD work to keep in front.

The smaller teams have no hope.
