Hello all, its been a long while since I posted anything. My MGF has a dead stepper gearbox and I got the chance of a local TF so grabbed it.
Im working through the usual failings and upgrades such as low coolant alarm, boot release, heater knobs broken, sticking seat belt and genrally enjoying messing about. My first was to get rid of the yellow lens from the speedo/tach cluster, nice bright white light and takes 10 minutes.
But recently noticed the first bit of hard rain it leaks in at the passenger door and the boot, even while standing. Allignments ok but I read re-enforcing the seals with silicone/rubber hose gives the seal a bit of spring back. Anyone done this and if so what did you use?

The boot - normally is actually the seal around the lights leaking. You can take the lights out and renew the seal or improve the seal with silicone sealant.
Depends where the leak is on the door, it's normally the window glass that needs adjustment, or the cheater(triangular piece with mirror attached).
I bought silicone tubing off ebay to slip inside the door seals. I think I got 8mm diameter.

:welcome: back
You cna buy brand new rubbers.. This is what I plan to do as mine were torn where people had hit them getting in and out..
But they are uber expensive.. £130 ish each.. and you need 2 for the doors
Other people have used 8mm rubber cord..
'O' Ring Cord : Nitrile Rubber : Metric Sizes From 1.5mm to 9mm Diameter
