Ben, nitrogen is thicker than air so doesn't leak out as much so tyre goes down slower oh yes and doesn't have water in it like air

As a chemist I have to point out that

1/. Air is 78% nitrogen, 21%Oxygen, the rest is water vapour and a few gases like Zenon and Neon.
2/. A Nitrogen (N2)molecule is smaller than an Oxygen(O2) molecule.

The advantage of Nitrogen is that it is dry. No water vapour.

A leak as in a puncture??

If you go back to ATS for a puncture repair we will refill tyre with nitrogen.

Likewise once you pay for nitrogen and think you need a top up, we do that for free.

Just like if you popped in for a regular air check.

Hence the tyre temp makes no difference on the pressure ?

We usually charge for a valve n balance to the wheels you want swapping tyres to.

But if you approach one of us van fitters to do it on the side *wink wink* it'll be cheaper ;)

Yep, that's why it's popular for track cars!
