I've taken my ZS Derv to Nationwide Auto Centre, that Halfords bought, and now its Halfords Auto Centre.

4 years and have always been fair. 3 years advisories only. Last time it was failed on a cut to o/s/r tyre and a split steering joint boot.

So I have had good service from them.

Think I had to book on line and it was half price.

I know a bloke who'll do the test over the phone, and stick the ticket in a 1st class brown envelope for £75.

Also, just to be slightly pedantic, Halfords is named after Halford Street in Birmingham, thus it doesn't have an apostrophe and trades as Halfords

Hell I need to get out more!

Andy

They are a bit sneaky, you can go all the way booking on line and miss the bit where you can get it for half price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to print the page out and take in, but they can see its already paid.

£25 to £30 is about the going rate in this area for MoTs , bearing in mind its the testing station that gets the money they can charge what they like up to the reccommended price. My Daughter gets it free for life on the Honda CRV as part of their service plan :woohoo:

I pay 35 quid at my local place: 2 of our cars per year, friendly service and they know me and our cars.
Last test I got an advisory on my Jag front discs: slight wear ridge evident, which I knew about: not too serious and on the list.

Knowing I DIY, they offered to get me a pair of discs at trade and gave me a new set of Ferodo pads they had lying around. For a small contribution to their chosen charity. As in 'put a fiver in the tin'. I gave more.

Top blokes and a top outlook on life: why I use my local businesses rather than the nationals.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
