Seen any good movies recently

Like watching good movies but find it hard to know what is good and what is rubbish. Recently watched that Life of Pi and thought it was probably the best I had seen in a while, but after recommending it to some friends they did not think much of it?? Whats the best movie you have seen in the last year??? :pop:

It's all a matter of opinion, I took my son to see life of Pi, I was bored stiff but he liked it. Best film i've seen recently was Django Unchained, but it's typical Quentin Tarantino and not everyones cup of tea.

Prometheus, cant wait for the sequel. Alot of people panned it, but didnt realise a sequel to answer the open plot lines was in the offing. Typical Ridley Scott film, technically brilliant.

strangely enough hansel and grettle witch hunters is a great film

I'm a bit of a movie nut and have seen almost everything that's out at the moment and to be quite honest nothing has really grabbed me.Django and Pi were pretty good and I did enjoy them but would not feature in my top 50 of all time.

I liked Prometheus too and I am looking forward to the next Alien movie but there was a huge hole in the plot, how did the 'Alien Engineer' get back in the pilots seat of the crashed space ship???In the first Alien movie set in the future that's where they found him with his chest exploded.

The last movie I was blown away by was Inception but most of my mates said it was rubbish and they didn't understand what was going on.That's the strange things with movies one mans meat is another mans poison. :pop:

Movies of 2012 I thought are worth a watch would be Seven psychopaths,Batman,Young Adult,The Raid,Looper and Ted as well as the three above.I'm looking forward to watching the Master and Shame but just haven't got round to it yet.

Really looking forward to Prometheus 2. Googled it and they are writing the script now.
Another couple of movies I liked were Hunger games and Cloud Atlas.
Bob I have bee told that except for a bit of nudity you will have trouble staying awake with that Master movie.

Prometheus for me too, I liked it better than The Hobbit which I also saw recently.. I'm also looking forward to the Prometheus sequel. Admittedly I am a pretty major Alien fan, and consider Alien my favourite all time movie.

'Flight' with Denzel Washington is quite good.

I agree, Andy I thoroughly enjoyed the latest Bond film!

Strangely, I also enjoyed John Carter too, even though it was panned by the critics, i thought it was a great escapist romp.

Skyfall for me, watched it twice... The hobbit I found a bit of a drag and Life of Pi I watched about 15 mins and gave up, perhaps i'll give it another go

Lincoln, if you like historical political dramasZzZzz. It's long, 2.5 hours, but enjoyable and depicts his political genius and guile relating to the freeing of the slaves under the 13th amendment. Had enough yet? :lol:

The Godfather trilogy is still top for me and I'm also looking forward to Prometheus 2. :broon:
