Just to contradict ever so slightly - there is a falacy that the hyrdagas spheres always go wrong - they dont, they are actually really rather reliable! I had a 1967 Mini a few years ago that was still on its ORIGINAL hydrolastic (old name) spheres - and Meg's are original from 1998 with no problems. People up the road had an ancient MG1300 LandCrab that was like 1960 or something and that had original ones to!
Yes they no longer make the spheres, but if well kept and not driven when the heights are wrong they will probably outlast the car!
The only negative I can think of is that because they reply on 'pressure' in this cold weather the ride height drops a few mm as the cold makes the pressure differential between the nitrogen and fluid drop... and if you have a crappy Council Installed driveway ramp like me.... you may scrape the front valance a bit (although that may be because Meg has a TF front end which is longer and slightly lower at the front than an F bumper).

Dave,
Check Piston-heads as well, they have good enthusiasts cars on there just check the filter so its on private buyers. Also a suggestion, depending on what you want to go and see, put a post on here and you my be able to induce a member from that area of the country to accompany you to view any prospective cars. As you can see, show them a photo of the front of a car and you get the history .... If you find a car in Essex, Hertfordshire, East London I will be pleased to come along ( time dependant).
