£1500 can buy a lot of F/TF, there are cracking cars out there for that money looking for a good home. I would think you can save yourself on the purchase price to offset the minor differences in Insurance costs. As to overall running costs, assume no real differences as its how you drive a car that determines the rate of fuel consumption and the deterioration of components. To "up-spec" could be enjoyable but ultimately quite costly as you will have to declare any mods to your insurance company, which gives them Carte Blanche to stiff you on the premium, without considering the cost of buying goodies.

I would hold out for a 135 at least. The insurance isn't going to be that much more and the convenience of the extras would outweigh the small increase (if any).
Whatever you decide, enjoy your choice and get out and drive it! :broon:

The all silver front end could indeed mean a front end respray, but I think they also produced some cars like that too.

Thanks - I didn't know that. Always just thought it was a lazy mans front end respray and they couldn't be bothered to mask off / take out the black plastics.

I think that I am going to let the silver TF slide by though - you guys have made me look at it again, and the appeal has gone. And that saves me a fruitless drive to Morecambe, I guess.
Still confused though. The car will be doing low mileage driving from home to uni and so on, probably not more than 2K per year. I just want one because they look cool and I have wanted one since I first saw them. Oy vey.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
