Hello a trip to my local scrap yard today was very nice with a new smashed up MGF with mint leather seats that I got for a good deal along with door leathers and arm rest, I stripped them out and I am picking them up in the morning.
Now the question is as the car I got my new goodies out of was a MK2 F will I have to change the seat belt tensioners as it was fitted with TF style seats ?
if I do have to change is it a easy swap?
Cant wait to get my tan cream seats fitted to the old girl :woohoo:

hi
good find .

just check the colour of the seat plugs from the carpet area if yours are yelow and the pre tensioner plugs are yellow your ok, same for red if they are different colours just put your pretensioners on the new seats
its just 1 bolt holding them on so easy job , just dont dismantle the tube or wiring from them

ITs easy mate just a few TORX bolts. 4 on the seat frame one on the seat belt. Don't pull any wires too hard and take your time. I did 2 seats and a full interior in 2 hrs

no best way i found was pull seat forward, undo 2 back bolts.
pull seat back undo 2 front seat bolts
then lift the seat up a little bit and wedge a bit of wood under it then yoy can undo the srs cable, its held on with a tie wrap lug thing.
then while seat it on the wedge of some kind undo seat belt bolt
then finally the lot comes off in one go so eat your spinach and lift the seat out

easy peasy lemon squeezy

Thats great thanks I just had a look on my car and the SRS plug is red and the one on the seats I stripped out is also red so should be easy !
Next question if any one can help me?
The seats I am putting in from the scrap yard came off a car that the air bag had gone off on, so even tho my plugs are both red will I still need to change the pre tensioners????? would this have gone off with the air bag??? what about the passanger side will that need changing???
