I'm probably the only person in Britain who couldn't care less. I hate gambling with a passion, and that's all horse racing is. Money, lust for! The root of all evil according to the Bible.
Add in the fact that animals are hurt and killed so someone can win £50 or whatever, means I would ban the Grand National without a moment's regret. Is it 2 dead so far?
Aditionally the fact that a horse is killed if it breaks a leg. If one of my dogs broke its leg I take it to the vet and have it sorted.
The reason the horse is killed is because it would cost too much money to fix and would probably not be able to race again.
I apologise for ranting over your light hearted post, sorry Leigh. :coat:

Just one wee point david , the horse isnt destroyed because it might not race again , it's destroyed because there is just no way to fix the leg , a horse is very different from a dog sadly , as soon as it came round from anaesthetic it'd want to be up on the leg again
, these horses are worth hundreds of thousands , the last thing an owner wants is the horse injured or killed I imagine ? , Dont get me wrong I'm not here to defend the horse racing fraternity , it holds little to no interest to me , this is the 2nd bet I have made in my 38 years and amounted to a whole £2 on seabass to win today :yesnod:

Capitalist dog! You should be ashamed of yourself. I'll bet you're a member of the countryside alliance too.
My better half has had 2 quid on Sea Bass' as well. So, I'll give you a thought if it wins. Good luck... Come on number 15 'On His Own', giddy up! :yesnod:

No issue with fox hunting whatsover leigh , nasty little bleeders those foxes , one of my farmer mates back in jockistan had a female cub that he kept as a pet , as soon as she came in season the dog foxes would rock up from miles around only to be be met with the business end of a 12 bore
