Just though I would warn you the laser detector are not much use in practice, by the time a laser hits your screen the speed of you car has already been recorded.
it takes less than 1/250 of a second to get a speed reading with a laser device.
by the time in goes off you've already got a ticket, sure they work but a lot of the time too late to be of any use.
Radar detectors are ok but again not that much use. Do not rely on any device to warn you of a speed traps. The best ones are not detectors but GPS based such as road angel of a tomtom with a camera data base loaded, is just as good if it is up to date. There is no real protection from handheld devices or vans that just park up at random locations.

It has been an eye opener to not thinking.. and does make you think about the circumstances, for instance i just worked out if i get banned and have to catch the train to work.. apart from the inconvenience it works out cheaper to catch the train. :omg:

and the other thing that i will have to do if i get banned is sell the MGF because i wont be able to afford two insurances :nonod: :sick:

Still would not trust it as far as I could throw it. I worked in defence electronics for some time. So this kind of electronics is my key skill. Scatter is unreliable and gives a lot of false alarms, despite all the claims made by various makers and sales people. In any case if a laser is pointed at your car your speed is recorded instantaneously. You would not even get chance to slow down. The police also sit and wait for a car that looks like it is shifting a bit over the limit, without the laser beam on so the detector is not triggered until it's too late. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch, they want to make a profit, and the makers of the speed guns are always one step ahead of the detector technology.
