Well, readers of this fine forum may recall that I posted a while back about coming late to body art. Not everyone's cup of tea , not mine for many years. However......

I had 'Susan' tattooed over my heart (aaaahh) a few years back. Then something I had promised meself for years after beating cancer: the Dead Man's Hand: aces over eights. Ace of spades uppermost: bottom card face down with a ???? mark design on the back because you never know the next card that life will deal. Bad luck tattoo unless you have swerved death. Life size on my right shoulder blade. Love it.

I keep em out of sight for my own reasons: I don't like visible. On me. No probs with those that do I hasten to add. Just my choice.

I am now considering something else that I have been pondering a while for the other shoulder: pondered for a while because I think that something so permanent and personal should not be rushed.

I know an excellent artist in Ibiza so I am considering.....black script....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Thank you Andrew, but a bit laid back for me.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

As they say John "No pics, didn't happen" :P

I love the fact that if you admire someones tattoo(s) there is almost always a story to go with them, usually a strength/life changing/positive story. That said, I don't have a story, I just liked it :yesnod: and because I was too old to be told off by my Mother! Ambigrams can look pretty neat depending what words you choose sometimes it can take a great stretch of the imagination to actually read it.

I really like your playing cards idea. I have a tattoo that although its rubbishly done (looks like a crayon drawing) it means more than appearances because of the story behind it.

How about 'THIS WAY UP'

or 'IF FOUND, PLEASE RETURN TO...'

or 'CAUTION: MAY CONTAINN NUTS'

I'm reminded of a story about a fella that had the letters W and O tattooed on to the side of his gentleman's sausage!
Apparently when he got excited it would spell WOOLLOOMOOLOO!
