My preferred method is inline crimps, staggered so they are not all in the same place. Solder is not a good medium for connections that are subject to flex and vibration as it creates a solid point that cannot flex. The action of the flexible cable flexing against the solid joint can cause failure due to fatigue. Inline crimps allow more flex where the cable enters the crimp.

As my soldering is not the best I'll do as you suggest and use in line crimps.

I did my boot loom as Clive suggested with in-line crimps and extra wire and it worked a treat- much easier and safer than trying to solder in a very small space :)



This girl doesn't mind getting her hands dirty !!! :lol:
