G'day everyone.
As I'm just about to take delivery of my new ( to me and only 26000km) car. Could you please offer suggestions on the best and quietest sport tyre to suit these cars?
Thanks for any advice and best wishes.
Ken

We will probably get shot for this, but running Maxxis MA-Z1 on each corner and have to say I'm really impressed with them!
Great grip and handling in all weathers.

A real surprise and shame the same can't be said of the four Maxxis MA-P1 I've currently got on my Rover 75 Tourer...Worst tyres ever in the wet and can't wait for some spare cash to get shut of them!

In the How tos, there's a good selection of tyres that I collated from comments made about the particular tyres on our cars.

I've always had the Toyos on my 2004 TF160 since I bought it 7 years ago. :broon:

Toyos on our 135 for well over a year now: wearing well and good wet and dry performance.

I don't have a performance judgement benchmark other than the age-perished OEM tyres. Car had only done 19k when she selected us as her custodians. MG's pick us, not the other way round, despite what you may think. :yesnod:

Loads of tread left: sidewalls knackered.

Which were entertaining to drive on to say the least: changed within 50 miles of ownership. Taken into account in the buy deal of the car.

Also........ Not really important but I always think that the tread pattern is pleasing.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Thanks for the feedback fellas.
Looks like the Toyo Proxis is the go.
I'll pick the car up on Friday and see what the OEM tyres are like when I get it back home (1700kms run North.)

Best wishes all.

I couldn't get Toyos anywhere when I needed new tyres on my TF160 so went with Yokohama S.Drives. They're not as ultimately grippy as the Toyos but lasted really well and were great in the wet. I fitted new rears just before I changed the car and they had done 16000 miles and were down to about 2.5mm. The fronts still had 5mm on them after the same distance.
I've just got R1-Rs on my Mini and they are stickier than a glue covered sticky thing. I ordered T1-Rs online and the supplier was out of stock so offered me the R1-Rs for a great price.

Back with front wheel drive and 181HP at the wheels :)
