Hi all, Well as the title says I thought I would get myself a DAB radio so before I buy I thought I would ask what are the good ones in your opinion at about £100-£125 as I don't like spending money :nonod: ha ha
What radio's do you have?

The main thing is reception and fitting the best possible aerial with soft tops the aerial options are limited to a splitter, internal glass mount and external glass mount the last is the most effective but a bit unsightly for most people.
The choice is made more difficult by the variation of signal quality from region to region for instance someone who lives in a good reception area may tell you I have a splitter for instance and my receptions perfect so you get one but in your area the reception is average or less and the performance could be totally pants.

I agree with Gary. I would want to be sure that the area I drive around in had really good Dab reception before buying any particular make and model.
Nowadays, I'm sure most head unit internals are actually made in a small number of factories so choice of unit is probably down to aesthetics.
The head unit in our F was picked because I liked the layout and the light colour scheme matched the plasma gauges and red illuminated switches.

I would agree with David on component manufactures, my Kenwood DAB has the same layout as a friends Panasonic DAB.

As said above the biggest problem is the signal, In my ZS where my DAB H/U is I have a splitter but to make it work well I had to fit the longer whip from a Rover 45. I had no problem with signal on long journeys.

I'm not sure what the O/E whip on the F should be, mine came without so now has the long one found on 45/400/25/200/civic.

I can't recommend any in your price range, I spent far too much on mine.

I've been thinking about one of these
**** REDUCED *** Sony CDX-DAB700U DAB/USB/AUX/CD Receiver
Completed

The reviews seem mixed, mostly there can be problems with reception.
But on the up side there are plenty of inputs for other ways to play music and the illumination can change colour to suit your cars interior.

I've got a philips dab in my 25. Can't check the model as I'm on holiday in the F. It works fine with the supplied mag mount aerial but I keep having to reset the dab stations plus won't always remember the last played track on CDs so couldn't recommend.

Bob - at £84 I don't think you can go far wrong. Problems with reception are down to the aerial and area you are in.
