I have got a problem that the speedometer stopped working, an the power steering warning light came on.
I checked the fuse for power steering and it was ok, I took out the fuse and in again and the power steering was ok. I than started to drive again, after about 5 minutes the power steering warning light cam on again. There is no paten for the power steering warning light is coming on.
The speedometer is not working.
Any one had this problem before

Posted 11 years 4 months ago #123186By removing and replacing the fuse you will reset the power steering. It will work for a short while until it recognises that there is no signal from the speedo. :yesnod:

As David and other's said. Power steering will cut out when the speedo signal is broken. I had this problem a few years ago, with the mk1 F, it's quite easy to fit a new wire. If memory serves me right, it's divided into 3 pieces?

I had this exact problem a few months ago. The speedo cable is in three parts. The one that failed with me was the one that comes out of the gearbox. If your problem is with either of the other two parts, I have spares that you can have. Let me know if it's the upper or middle section that has failed.
