Are there any funeral arrangements yet?

An Honour Guard of MG's lining his final journey and respecting his passing would be fitting, and we'd do our utmost to drive North and be part of it.

This is a man of my age who has passed too soon.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

We don't know what the arrangements are yet John, and whilst a guard of honour is a lovely idea, we don't yet know what the family's wishes are.
I'm sure a post will be made once details are confirmed

you may want to turn round though John and head south, as I'm pretty sure that the funeral will be in St Albans ;) Seriously, it's lovely that people like you want to pay their respects to a forum friend, even though you've never met face-to-face. That says so much for the forum and it's members :hugs:

This girl doesn't mind getting her hands dirty !!!

Thanks for that Birks. Family wishes and our availability taken into account, we'll turn up wherever if required.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Its very sad news when we loose a member of the extended MG Family. Although I have never been fortunate enough to meet any of you in person, my thoughts are with Larry's Family and friends and all of the Border Patrolers.

Larry passed away on a Border Patrol outing John. The funeral may be a private concern. That will depend on Larrys' family. It doesn't really matter under these dreadful circumstances. Our thoughts are with them.

However, it's a tremendous heartfelt suggestion that you've made and I'm sure that it's also supported by the vast majority at the T-Bar, Fakebook, .Org, the MGF register and the whole of the wider MG community where Larry was also a member.

Whether we're all invited or not, we can pay our respects to Larry and his family here. I'm sure that they'll drop in at some point in the future, once their grief eventually subdues a bit, to have a read, view the old event pics that he attended ( The Scotland trip and the Italian run to name but two) and revisit fonder times. :hugs:

Larry in his younger days. Larry Hinrichs-Guitar Player; Shane McGowan-Vocals in the band The Nips (The Nipple Erectors)

Funeral details: August 5th Please like the post about the funeral date on Larry's facebook page and add your name if you are attending. Thanks.
The service is to be held at Harwood park Watton Road Stevenage Hertfordshire sg2 around 12 and the burial is to be held at London road cemetery St Albans which all friends can also attend if you wish but we don't expect everyone to attend that part, and then we will get back to you all on the wake as nothing is definite yet.

As I wrote before I didn't know Larry but I saw all the Border Patrol pictures going over the Pass of the Cattle (Applecross)and as the Highland MGOC went over the pass today I stopped my red MGF and placed a small stone for him on this cairn over looking the Black Cullins.

PS It was a lovely day and the first time I've heard both my cooling fans work

Richard that's a thoughtful and touching action. :yesnod:
I can still see Larry at that place on an equally beautiful day, with Johann disappearing into the far distance, like a young colt released onto grassland for the first time. B)
