Well, we are back from the BP holiday and have had a chance to chill out a little and unpack.

The holiday was an event of mixed feelings. It was a great week with fantastic weather and great friends, but as you know now, one of our great friends passed away in his sleep on Tuesday morning.

There are threads on this so I won't dwell on it too much here, but I will say that we missed you Larry, and Johann, and the red MGF.

We arrived on the Saturday after a long drive (over 8 hours for some) and we were greeted with the accommodation that we would spend the next week in.

It was a large house with pretty huge gardens and a stream running through it.

And a huge projector telly.

The area and the weather were fantastic for top down driving and we soon found our favourite spot. A great twisty mountain road with an ice cream van in the middle of nowhere.

Even the HGF sniffer dog enjoyed it.

We did a few run outs during the week, with the big one being Pendine Sands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pendine_Sands which has a well known history for racing and speed trials.

We visited the museum of speed.

and we managed to negotiate getting the MGs on the beach.

We even managed to visit the holy land.

Fantastic photos of what looks like a great place. The weather looks perfect.
I hope that you've all been able to get some enjoyment from the holiday. As you say despite the sadness, I think that a good time is a fitting memorial to someone who enjoyed life to the full. :hugs:

The best of times and the worst of times.. What a great spot with lovely vistas. It would have made a great venue for a BBQ and a forum get together. We could have got absolutely hammered there, camped the night and no-one would have known for miles. Thanks for sharing.

Just kidding. So don't get biting. Life's too short. :P

RIPLAZ.

The BP Welsh Wanderings was a week of many mixed feelings and emotions, but a week I'm very glad I shared with such a fantastic group of friends :hugs:

The house and parking were certainly more than adequate -

It wasn't long before Tracy got out the bucket and wash mitt and gave us all a demonstration in how to wash a car properly...

Whilst one or two of us might've preferred to take it easy in the garden

There were runs...

And nice views...

And ice cream vans in the middle of nowhere...

Lucie bought a sheep...

Larry played 'hunt the working cash machine'...

and Clive played 'spot the cone'

Johann tried to play on the postman pat ride

But had to make do with a donut

There were beaches and BBQs

And waterfalls and more runs

And yet more beaches

And boat trips

Clive found his own fish bar

And I found my pub

Then, there was just time for more ice creams

And more runs with stunning views to finish the week off
