My 97 F VVC has a problem I can feel (sometimes hear a click) in the steering when turning right to left now the car has been in the garage and had two new shocks/dampers and a new lower ball joint done and the garage said the front end is solid Ie bushes are ok any one got any ideas??? I would not have thought that it would be a problem with the steering rack as it's a simple manual rack with the electric assisted Colum drive . I need help I am getting fed up with it now just seems to be one thing after the other lately :(

I can only suggest you look at the universal joint at the bottom of the steering column. It may be semi seized.
A worn steering rack would give you vague/wandering steering.
