After recent posts on this topic, it seemed a very good mod. to do on my F.
Took the big black cover off to see what sort of bracket I could codge up & to my surprise saw that there was one already fitted ;)
It looks like an OEM fitting.

Have other F's got this fitted?

Looking at your image there is no extra brace fitted, it would be mounted between the double skin flange under your heater uptake snorkel and connect to the top left servo bolt.

That's the point I'm making. Does it need more support than already fitted. ;)
I feel the braking feel still needs better reaction especially from high speed.

There is a lot of flex in the bulkhead that the servo is mounted on and any extra support is a good thing. Here is a pic of one type of bracket (The "Jaylad" bracket) shown with a TF Snorkel.(This bracket will not mount with a Mk1 MGF air intake)
Note: you get better results mounting the bracket on the master cylinder rather than on the spare tyre!

Forrester, i think, from what I have read on other threads, the flex doesnt come from the bracket itself (which yes, i guess all servos look like yours ;)) but where its mounted against that piece of bodywork, its that that bends.
So the brackets effectively attach the servo to a more sturdy bit of the body.

I may be completely wrong however. :)

Forester, there's an excellent How To from cjj on this topic.

http://www.the-t-bar.com/en/forum/22-cjj-s-guides/75834-brake-servo-flex-fix

I've just made one up for my F using a slightly different approach to others but I can say that it definitely improves the braking!

Adam is right, it's the flex in the bulkhead that the servo bracket is mounted to that's the problem.

This is an easy to do fix that has big benefits.

Where the flex occurs, and a simple brace.

Nice one - I think the brace featured in Rich's post above benefits from the vertical strip along the back but doesn't look as good as a result.

Got 2 brackets made by a mate who has an arc welder.
Fitted them today & it has made the brake pedal feel more solid :yesnod:
Had to cut 2 holes in the heater air box to fit them. Will this cause any problems?

Only a leak in the passenger footwell..

Hence why people fit the TF snorkel when they do this mod
