We had some politicians peddling the same sort of rubbish a few years ago. They wanted a compulsory internet filter. It turned out that it would've been political suicide to implement it and after a bit of blustering it was dropped.

Now as an Aussie, I'm on the outside looking in and as such, I don't know the ins and outs of your political situation. It's not for me to say, so I've refrained from participating in the survey.

But the way I see it is:
Unnecessary internet censorship is the sort of thing one might expect of a totalitarian government or the bloody Taliban!
What's the point of a government going to war with the Taliban if they themselves want to behave the same way???
A pox on all hypocritical politicians of any persuasion, may they all get terminal great galloping c0ckr0t! :rant:
