First MOT

My first MOT with this car booked for tomorrow, have done the usual and not so usual checks as per John's very useful guide. So fingers crossed. If it fails I may have to cancel Christmas to pay for it!

Hope you get on better than I did mine failed on both head light lenses 2 tyres that had cracks in the side walls needed welding to rear outer sill and a few other bits that I can not think of at the minute I was not at all happy they wanted over £800 to put it right. I got in contact with a mates friend and he sorted it for under £300 not including tyres as he said they were passable but I am on the look out for some new ones before next summer. :woo2:

I'm sure you'll be fine. If it fails on anything, look on it as an opportunity to upgrade!

Hi there, in my experience it's best to expect the worst and then when it passes or only needs minor work, then you're in the pound seats!! :woohoo:
You haven't got the dreaded SRS lit up have you? :bang:

Oh Well. It failed on the following.
1 track rod end.
1 leaking shock
2 shocks with excessive play in the bottom bush
1no tyre delaminated in inside wall

So a set of GAZ shocks ordered and 2 Toyo tyres ( 1 was near limit)

Not the end of the world

The bottom damper bushes can be replaced on an F, but seeing as you've already ordered the Gaz adjustables anyway.:shrug:
We are over the moon with the Gaz dampers we fitted to Jet Black. :yesnod: Just don't set them too stiff or you will damage the rear top mounts. 10 ish seems about right.

Thanks David, that's very useful information. It may have been the top mounts then.
