What's your pet hate on the roads & why?

Cars that cross the white centre line on a bend or gentle series of S. I mean how bloody difficult is it to keep your car on your side? Drivers in Harlington., Bedfordshire all appear to have lost the concept of staying on their own side. :rant:

I cross the lines during "spirited" driving on bends, but only on open bends with broken white lines, where you can see nothing is coming. I would never do it on solid white lines or if there was any doubt of someone coming the other way, unlike this plonker when I was out on a Border Patrol run.

People on m-ways in the out side lane, 100yrs from there turn off and therefore doing 90-100mph to try and make a gap that isn't there
This happened the other month and I knew the driver it was a I A M instructor

When doing a decent [legal] speed on a 2 lane road, some idiot pulls out from a T junction in front of you & forcing you to brake.
They then proceed to turn right a hundred yards up the road. :rant:

AUDI Drivers cause their worse than BMW drivers, they both think they own the road, with no consideration for others. :rant:

And that is fine... but blind bends is just plain laziness...

I hate people that speed up to a junction, usually to your left, making you brake on the main road. I also hate taxis, push bikes and buses in that order. I have to overtake the same bikes 30 times on my way to work in Brum and they're always positioned mid road. The bus drivers just pull out without indication and the taxis seem to think that half a cars length is sufficient space to join the road from their layby.


But most of all... and I hate them because they seem to do everything possible to block you in, delay you, pull out as you overtake and generally hinder your progress in any way available to them are the Goddamn Bin men! :bang:

People in sports cars just because they think there in a fast car they drive like the devil is after them :oops:

I have a long list of pet hates as regards the roads.

* Cyclists.
Not the kids tootling about or the sensibly dressed normal person going about their daily business on their bikes. The one's I despise are the cycle couriers and the weekend warrior tosspots in lycra with all their arrogance, these halfwits don't use the dedicated cycle lanes where provided, chose to ignore traffic signals and flaunt the rules and laws of the road.

* Joggers.
Not the idiots that huff a puff their way along the foot path. their stupidity is their own problem. The ones I object to are the morons who insist on jogging upon the road itself, even where perfectly good footpaths are adjacent to the road! These oxygen thieves aren't just content gulping down more than their quota of oxygen they frequently chose to do so in the dark whilst wearing dull coloured clothing (greys browns, black etc.) so as to be a navigation hazard to all other road users! They say they do it to be healthy but I fail to see whats so healthy about breathing in exhaust fumes and an accelerated rate and getting run over! :nonod:

* Hybrid & Electric Cars.
Not only are these things so unspeakably ugly, but their drivers are such pious smug pains in the ar$e, that I have a hard time resisting the urge to drag them from their hideous noddy car and kicking their bloody teeth in!

* Trams.
These remnants of the Victorian age still clutter the streets of Melbourne, damned things are little more than mobile chicanes!
Mind you I despise all public transport for the very simple reason that it's public!
They'll let anyone use it! :nonod:

* Caravans.
Do I really need to explain this one?

* Speed Bumps and other Stupid Traffic Calming Measures.
If they designed the streets and did the town planning properly in the first place they wouldn't need to resort to these usually poorly planned and executed afterthoughts.

I have more and shall probably add them later but writing what I have so far has got me sufficiently grumpy for now!

Actually, those who drive up your arse on a country lane. just because you know the lay of the road and want to drive it at 80 in a 40, doesnt mean I do and hence any cautiousness.
just chill out and give me an extra 30ft and i might be able to enjoy the drive at 45

1. Middle lane Morons, it just shows complete lack of understanding of what they should be doing and complete lack of awareness of whats going on around them!

2. Cyclists who don't use cycle lanes and weave in and out of slow moving traffic.

3. Idiots that don't indicate, my telepathy skills need a little work.
