heater resistor values
I'm aware that it works with resistors similar to the original values, found different specs in several posts.
But does anybody know the exact values of the original resistor pack?

2* Wirewound 7 Watt 0.68 Ohm Resistor £1.58
2* Wirewound 7 Watt 0.22 Ohm Resistor £1.58
2* Wirewound 7 Watt 0.1 Ohm Resistor £1.58
The values were confirmed by Technozen on another forum...... I've used similar ones previously on my F and it's been fine since about 2007!

read so far:
10W 1.5Ω
10W 0.68Ω
10W 0.27Ω
or:
11W 1.5Ω
11W 0.56Ω
11W 0.33Ω
alternatively when combining two resistors per contact:
2x 10W 3.3Ω
2x 10W 1.5Ω
2x 10W 0.56Ω
Apparently it's more important to have similar steps between the single resistors than having the 100% correct value,
am I right?

The reason your last set are so wildly different is because they would be connected in parallel, effectively halving their resistance. That would bring them inline.
Tecnozen said that the values I gave you are as close to the right died while keeping the resistors fairly small (they droop of to long and heavy and may hit the fan blades if not tied together well enough).
Two of the 7 watt ones I got wired in series give you 14 watts which I'd enough capacity, and close enough to the right resistance for good speeds. At least I'll know that very soon lol.

Originally I planned to use ceramic resistors but after reading Rezpax' description
I think I'll give them a try...
Thanks guys!

Popped it in to Felix and it works an absolute treat. All 4 speeds - nice and slow to super fast. As always I highly recommend the ceramic resistor path... it's the way to go and it's CHEAP! Total paid £4.74.

looks great!
Ordered from Rezpax yesterday as I did not find all resistors locally.

When i ordered the rssistors from Maplin I got an email saying all 6 were in, then a text saying they only had 3 in stock! The helpline chat person said they were in but just in case to order equivalents - so I ordered a mixture of Series and Parallel resistors instead - when I got there today I went with my original order as they indeed did have them! LOL
Not the most efficient ordering system (plus their website is screwy when searching for local stock in Firefox!) - but they are cheap!
Once you've soldered the new ones on (whichever type), the removal / refit is quite quick. I did the whole thing in about 15 minutes. You can just lower the glovebox out of the way and leave the wires connected usually, and just ease the air inlet out of the way after undoing the one bolt - then just pop the air feed pipe out of the lower fixing and reach in behind - you'll see what I mean when you get it off!

What tools do u need exactly to take it out.
I saw 1 pdf somewhere its under the glove box.I got only a screw driver nothing else. What else should i buy.Are they providing replacement rpaired parts immidiately like as exchange ?
If i take it out 1 wanna put back the new 1 in 1 go.
