Is this one of the best driving roads?
When we were enjoying the 2012 Border Patrol holiday in Italy we drove to Stelvio Pass for the day.
Unfortunately, or as it turns out, fortunately, we kind of took a detour.
We ended up going miles out of our way, but I for one am glad that we did, because we discovered some beautiful places and passes that we would never have seen.
This is one of the passes, back down from the Swiss border on the SS36, south of Pianazzo, Sondria in Italy.
This photo shows how the road just keeps doubling back on itself through tunnel after tunnel.
The video of that stretch of road between Pianazzo and Corti, Sondrio, Italy.

Although the scenery looked great, it's not my type of favourite driving road.
I prefer a scenic route where you can do some spirited driving :yesnod:
I did some thing similar to the video in my 3.5 ton motorhome. If you're going uphill, I can tell you it aint no pleasure

We were driving in convoy though. You could press on if you wanted.
This is the bit before, coming up the Splugen Pass.

Nice Clive.
You guys are blessed with lots of good driving roads. I know that David and the gang showed Judy and I some great roads on that tour you took us on two summers ago.
I'm hoping to drive this road in the F this summer.

Some really nice twisty roads there from around the world.
I've always been attracted to windy roads that run next to water. Probably something to do with driving in the Lake District.
I''ve always wanted to drive the Amalfi coast road in Italy.
