This has become common practice. Appears to be when the supplier is waiting for new stock to arrive they put a silly price on items, there must be some advantage for them, a lot do it. I've seen MGF exhaust back boxes for £2000+

Apparently it's cheaper for them to do it this way, rather than having to change or remove the add.

Due to the longevity of of powerseller ads, it is cost effective to do this rather then keep being charged for fresh insertion fees. It makes it look expensive, but you soon get used to it

I did wonder if it was an automated pricing algorithm gone crazy. I remember a few years ago a book about fly genetics on Amazon reached $23 million because two online stores kept upping their price automatically based on what the other was advertising
