Hi all
Well the under side of my TF is rust fee now. I spent 5 hours last month [ the back ] and 5 hours yesterday [ the front ] cleaning the rust off the sub frames and every thing else that was showing signs of rust. The first step was to wire brush the rust off then I used 40 grade sandpaper. I then applied kurust and finished with hammerrite so all looks shiny black now underneath

Something I want to do, so out of interest how did you access everything? Do you have a pit or ramp or was it possible with only axel stands?

HI
I used ramps. You can get at most of the suspension and most of the sub frames, the anti roll bars and there was a cross brace on my car [TF ] also
Tools used were a wire brush and followed by 40 grade sand paper.
Hammerite kurust was then applied followed by hammerite paint

Head gasket has been replaced along with cambelt etc. at a cost of just over £2,400 !!!

Now who would spend that kind of money on what is a total rust bucket?.... or did the rust suddenly appear overnight after he spent all that money? :bust:
Nah, something doesn't add up with that story. :nonod:
