MGF Quicksilver

A new member of the Highland MGOC turned-up in his 2001 MG F 1.6i. It's labelled as a MGF Quicksilver and has a chrome finishing strip around the hood base and door tops, a silver MG badge on the boot and a chrome strip under the 3rd brake light. My guess is that this was a dealer special but does anyone know better?

The rear badge has just delaminated and lost its color. My guess is it is stick on chrome strip and self done. Looks ok though

Not one I've seen before. I think it's probably a previous owner being creative or as you say a dealer special.
Quicksilver, I believe, make(made) exhausts so it could be a logo from them.

Do you have a close up of the chrome around the doors/hood? I quite like that idea. :yesnod:

Quiksilver in that font is the logo of an Australian surfware company.

David,

Sorry, no close-up but I expect to see the car again and will take detailed pictures. I think the arrangement around the hood looked quite neat.

There have been several Peugeot Quicksilver actionmodels. Unliky to be original Rover actionmodel. So I guess a surfing Mg freak or the otherway round.

If you? owner gives me the VIN i can tell you exactly what it is, when it was made and the original supplying dealer.

Never heard of an dealer enhanced special like this, the Panther & Cheetah were Dealer modified specials, i very small numbers. In the case of the Panther, the dealer bought 5 cars in the same colour (black) and enhanced them, plus one Mk2 in silver. I have traced them all.
