But I came back. I enjoy banter, but am aware that some may not share my somewhat Northern sense of humour. I mean no malice or disrespect. I think I do have some engineering knowledge to share. Don't take me seriously. Some might do. Soz.
I'd like this forum to be more communicative I guess: sometimes threads just stop dead when questions are answered: no thanks or feedback. If your probs have been solved by an answer, then at least comment or say ta!
I also regularly go off topic: 58 years of living gives loads of rambling experience: maybe we should have an Old Farts thread?
Any road up, anyone that keeps the meagre engineering efforts of MGR on the road deserves respect, so  :hugs:
I often wonder why they don't make me an admin.....
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I for one am glad to see you back and I suspect I'm not alone in that. You offer something different in the way you discuss things but more importantly you give a strong engineering perspective to things.
Keep it coming :yesnod: :yesnod:

Sometimes what one person means as harmless banter is taken very seriously by someone else. It's a fine line and the admin team accept that sometimes it goes too far and quiet word will be whispered in someone's shell-like.
All we ask is that people show respect for other people, even if you think they are a complete tosspot! If you violently disagree with someone's viewpoint then just ignore them. It works for me.
In real life I have good friends who express views that I strongly disapprove of, but I just don't rise to the bait. I'm not going to change their views and they are not going to change mine. I consider their friendship more important than falling out over it.
Life's too short to keep losing friends. I didn't always think this way and used to browbeat people into submission until they either agreed with me or shut up. I kept losing friends... Funny that, eh?
Please everyone remember that if you give banter out on the forum then be prepared to get it back, but don't take it too seriously; it's not real life after all.

My favourite post was of the wonky eye DRLs and reference to one of your takeaways. Forum Gold.
As David says, in life you have to give and take. The same on here.
Don't change for anyone.

I totally agree with young John about this - most times we hear about solutions but not always.
