My all-time favourite from Italy is the famous Florentine steak with a nice Primitivo to wash it down.

I especially like the Spicy salads that the Thais are also fond of. Spicy beef salad is eye wateringly good!
Here's an Australian version. The authentic Thai recipe calls for 26 chillies!

I was sat there red faced, drenched in sweat with tears streaming down my face, tucking in with gusto. Sheila said 'if it's too hot stop eating it!'
My reply, 'It is but it's so tasty I have to finish it!' :yesnod:

Very simple but pure indulgence.
There's so much great food all over the world, life's too short to taste everything. With fresh ingredients the most simple dish becomes something great.
I would murder someone for a fresh baked bavarian Leberkäs - no chance to get it here since the last and only german butcher in Eire closed his shop.

Interesting fact of the day. The traditional Cumberland sausage is said to be a localised version of the German sausage that the many German lead miners, who immigrated here to dig in the Cumbrian mountains, brought with them.
I should really have mentioned it as a favourite dish too. Don't be fooled by commercial 'Cumberland' sausage available in supermarkets. That's usually rubbish.
Proper Cumberland sausage has to be at least 98% meat. The rest being herbs and spices. It should also by rights only be called Cumberland sausage if it is made within this county.

Those are some pretty impressive prawns, now I'm drooling too. Last night I was craving a steak and added some oysters Kilpatrick and snow peas and a baked potato for good measure.
