Is this any good?? (I don't like the idea of drilling the header tank)

Or is this more expensive for a reason

This is the one that I use: B&G low coolant alarm, it's not cheap, but it's the best. It's certainly cheaper than a blown head gasket!

Under no circumstances get the cheap one. I had one and it was rubbish. Someone might link you to my post / pictures. .

Get the B&G one or from MGOC, they are the very best and are a copy of the OEM omen fitted as standard on TFs from 2004. the cheap ones just don't work :oops:

Would it be possible to chop and transplant one from an 04 plate TF ??? my local scrap yard always has a good stock of them ????? :tada:

If you get the expansion tank with the integral float and the sensor and wiring beneath, then you are most of the way there. So yes!
